Am i ever going to lose weight?

ok, so i've been going to the gym at least 3 (usually 4 or 5) times a week since i started college, and i'm a month away from my senior year and i still look exactly the same! i guess it could be worse, i could have gained 15 pounds like some girls, but i still have that belly and butt chub that is keeping me from wearing a bikini in public.
i run, i walk everywhere around campus, i don't eat any red meat, or drink cokes, i've tried swimming, elliptical, and weight lifting.nothing.
for the last month and a half i changed workouts. i run a mile and a half, walk about another mile, and do about 200 crunches.still nothing.
should i just take out a loan and get my hips and butt sucked out? i'm just about ready to give up.
Answer:
I hope you're joking about liposuction at your age, height, and weight. Really, kiddo, that's a pretty damned big mistake. You mentioned nothing about diet. The truth is that without proper diet, people can work out like demons and never see the results they want. Success in body transformation should be viewed as a pyramid: the base is formed by exercise, nutrition, and rest. Neglect any one of those three elements, and you won't create a stable enough base to reach the peak you want.Forget drinking Coke -- drinking pop, period, is bad. Excess sugars will bite you in the rear. There is *nothing* wrong with lean red meats. Some of the most impressive physiques in the world have been built off of diets that included copious amounts of red meat. We're ominvores by nature. Lastly: consistency. You've *tried* swimming, elliptical, and weight-lifting? How long did you try them? Were you using a focused program tailored to your desires? Did you maintain variety? In the case of weight-lifting, were you working the large muscle groups with compound movements (presses, squats, etc), or were you using machines to do bicep curls and leg extensions? These are all good questions to ask yourself. For some good answers regarding body transformation for women (if they're seeking a fit, strong look), I generally point people to http://www.musclewithattitude.com/... -- Waterbury's "4 Things Females Should Know" article is a good start. Read through as much as you can.Yes, the site is targeted toward those who wish to pursue figure/fitness competition goals, so there's an extreme mentality to the effort they speak of. If that's not your cup of tea and you're worried about becoming overly buff -- don't. Unless you're a genetic freak, you're NOT going to accidentally earn that look. If you were that kind of genetic anomaly, you'd know it already. It takes years of dedication and intense effort to reach the pinnacle that some of those images represent. If you want something short of that, it's no problem at all to simply ease back when you're at your ideal image.Good luck with your goals. Don't be too obsessed with what the scale says -- the scale lies. Take care of your overall health and fitness, and the rest will fall into place.
Sounds like you are just right to me. a little cushion for the pushing never hurt.
Dont change anything. Youre perfect just the way you are. Just keep doing it to stay healthy.
abs are made in the kitchen. I would try weight watchers. Granted I am a man, but I have taken off over 50 lbs in the past year. Honestly I don't even pay for it. I just do it with my gf who has alos lost a bunch of weight and it has taught us how to eat better. Limiting calorie intake is the key to reducing fat, I bet you are ripped underneath already.
You cant lose weight with just exercise alone. You need to change your diet too. Yes you dont eat red meat or drink anything but diet soda but if your still eating cookies and pizza and cake and working out there will be no change. You need to change your caloric intake.
Weight loss comes from burning off more calories than you digest. That doesnt mean starve yourself and eat only like 800 calories per day but instead of pizza eat a salad with very little dressing. Dressing is the killer. Or instead of fried chicken eat baked or grilled chicken. Cut out the sweets, sugar is horrible for weight loss. Also be sure to eat breakfast. A good low calorie cereal like Special K instead of a pop tart or muffin or bagel.
Also cut out a lot of cheeses, eat cheese in moderation. Use no or light mayo on snadwiches. Those little frozen dinners like lean cusine or healthy choice are good for losing weight too because they are balanced, prpvide the nutirents you need and are usually under 350 calories per meal.
Eat 5 small meals a day. For example: 1 cup of cereal with some skim milk for breakfast, a piece of fruit or granola bar for a snack, a salad with grilled chicken for lunch, a nother snack of fruit or veggies or even those 100 calorie packs of cookies and crackers they make now are good and a healthy dinner of chicken or fish with 1/4-1/2 cup of veggies for dinner veggies for dinner. Try to stay away from too many potatoes or breads. Eat them in moderation. And yes you can have a cheat day once a week where you can treat yourself to ice cream or whatever, just dont over do it.
Have you ever considered getting your thyroid checked, I have many friends that have trouble losing weight due to their thyroid.good luck and God Bless
eat less an get some calory burners
Sport than bikini and be proud of yourself.Sometimes weight doesn't matter. if you work out alot your body will substitute muscle for fat. so you wont see weight loss. what you should do take a picture of yourself today. work out for 3 weeks or so take another picture wearing the same clothes and you will notice a difference.
All I can really tell you is to keep it up. The pounds aren't dropping most likely because you are gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. You could try interval training- I've read many times that it works really well for burning fat. (Ex: when you run, go fast for 1 minute, slower for two, and then speed up again.)
You can also look critically at your diet. Are there ANY healthy changes you can make that would cut calories (like switching to wheat bread or staying away from fried meat, or simply including more fresh produce)? Anything you can think of will help.
dont give up think +vely...reducing weight always takes time
you are not really over weight try and ommit carbohydrates from your diet and drink lots of water about 2lit every day and why dont you try cycling
it sounds like you are doing plenty of exercising, so maybe try changing your diet? do you eat yogurt? i started eating yogurt and i lost weight a lot faster than when I was not eating it, if you dont already, try not eating after 7pm if you can. eat LOTS of fiber and protein.good luck, dont give up!
Checck your diet to see if you are not eating too many complex carbs, sugar and overly-processed flours. You can still have carbs, but have unrefined flours (whole grain) and not in the pm. Star taking an Omega complex supplement (one that has all omega fatty acids, like alpha-linoleic acid) to avoid insulin resistance (culprit of tummy fat). Take also B complex vitamins.
Drink only purified water, at room temperature whenever you can.
Follow a steady fitness routine.
Sleep for at least 8 hours a night. And avoid stress whenever you can.
You are exercising! You are turning your fat into muscle, muscle weighs more than fat! Without dropping your calorie intake you are not going to lose weight but instead you are firming up!

I feel your pain. I am 5'4 with 42 inch hips and a 25 inch waist. This is the absolute smallest I can get because there is no more fat to burn. I just continue running four miles six days a week.. that's all I really can do. I am in the gym no less than an hour and a half. I don't alternate between legs one day and arms the next. I work everything out everyday and it honestly works. Also, six mini meals a day. Mostly fruits, nuts, grains, whole wheat, fiber and protein because they keep you feeling full all day.
busybee, you probably ain't giving the weight training enough time. Takes time. Like everybody is telling you, the diet is crucial. Like some of the males are telling you, a little junk in the trunk ain't all that bad!
