Am I disabled?

I have compulsive eating disorder. Does that make me disabled and fat or just fat?
Answer:
Not disabled, unless you are morbidly obese and the weight is affecting your ability to function. Don't call yourself fat. Instead of hating yourself, focus that energy on getting help. With psychological treatment, you can overcome the disease.Check with your insurance company. Most have a mental health benefit and will give you a list of providers in your area.
No it does not make you disabled. It just means you need help mentally. If you are fat and don't stop eating as much you will get fatter and put to much pressure on your lungs and heart please go and ask the doctor for help before it's to late to control.
if you are disabled, it would depend on if this hinders your ability to function regulatly as a human being...hold a job, fave a famil, etc
hi it don't mean your fat or disabled, its a condition.maybe your gp can help if you feel you are .
not disabled go see a dietician or your doctor try eating sensibly lots of fruit and veg instead of chocolate biscuits and cakes if you think you are fat try going to the gym and workout get rid of that excess fat
i would talk to a slimming world rep you find the in yellow pages
No you are certainly not disabled, but I would say that you are being slightly insensitive to those who are.Think about those who are unable to eat by themselves and rely on someone to feed them; people who are blind and would do anything just to see what food looks like; people who are unable to exercise because they are paralysed or in a wheel chair.I may be a bit harsh here, but other than those who are obese due to medical problems i.e. they can't exercise, there is no such thing as people being disabled just because they are fat. Everyone can lose weight if they put their mind to it, and although obesity is not yet a major issue in the UK, it will be soon enough, and the money earned by the British tax payer will go towards caring for these people who will not stop eating. It's bad enough that we pay for junkie's %26 alcoholics to live rent free in council accomodation, the last thing we need is to be paying to feed the nations obese population when we are also faced with the struggle of feeding our own families!
