Well try excercising, eating less fattie foods, of course u can treat urself once a while but reduce it, jog in the mornings %26 evenings, trust me u feel so much good, not just pshycalyl but mentally aswlel %26 the results are there very quickly, look at these runners in sports, i.e 200 Metere, 500 1000 etc, look how slim they r, its cuz they job, not saying u have to run long but just 20 mins or 15 mins mornings %26 evenings, u b fine.

if you dont eat atleast 3 decent meals a day you will gain fat. the body will know you arent eating much and store as much fat as possible, therefore your going to have a gut if you dont eat, keep that exercise up but you have to eat some good hearty meals after you exercise

Sweetheart, you are not fat! My daughter is 13, weighs about the same and is about 4' 10'. She has a belly too (not to mention the bubble butt, that she gets from me and loves it) I myself am fat (about 50 lbs overweight) but my daughter and I work out together. Do you have anyone that you can work out with? It helps when you have someone else to complain to about how much you "hate to exercise". I agree that thinking your overweight can be destructive to your self esteem, but losing weight won't fix your low self esteem.OK, now that my "Dr Phil moment" is over, honey, you need to eat to loose weight! there are weight scales that you can check. i cant say if you are fat, as i cant see you. everyone is different, and you might have a thick bone structure. im 5'3, so 160 would be fat for me. i believe that you should be around 145, or so.that site that the guy put in was good, but there are different averages for men and women
If you're somewhat muscular you might be pretty close to dead on fine.
If you're an individual that exercises, watches what they eat, and feels healthy, you're probably ok.
Alot of an individual's reasonable size has to depend on genetics as well; i've learned that with my genetic predisposition I'm never going to be a size 2 but I can be a healthy, happy individual a bit larger than that.
Your best way to evaluate if your current weight is appropriate would be to have a body-fat analysis done. If you are in school you can ask your athletic trainer to do this; if you are a member of a gym they should also have the appropriate equipment to determine this. There are 6' 230lb individuals who are completely healthy and 5' 2'' 100lb individuals who are completely unhealthy. If you are truly concerned, get in touch with an athletic trainer, exercise physiologist or nutritionist that can help you determine how to live the healthiest life.

That doesn't sound fat at all. Im 5 feet and weight 110, and Im not fat...which isn't just in MY head. lol. To work out your thighs I'd suggest doing thigh exercises that just focus on those muscle groups. Such as laying on the ground sideways with your left leg out straight, then bending your right leg over your knee and then raising your straight left leg 10 or 20 times then roll over and do the same on the other side. There are machines at the gym that tones your butt and thigh muscles as well, you have to work all those grouped muscles, It's not possible to only work ONE area, (ie your stomach) so good luck!

I'm 15, 5'2'', and I weight 115-120 pounds and I look good in just about everything I wear (in clothes from some stores.. I'm a size S! What the heck!?). You are not fat, you are healthy. Once you mature more, you will gain height which will make your fat from childhood shrink away.

For your thighs i suggest running. It helps a lot! And swimming, since its summer, you'll be swimming some anyway, right? When you're in the pool with your friends try doing a few laps. Also, cycling is good too! If you don't like running, try cycling. Also, try getting into Pilates, or watching some videos with some of the moves. That'll get your thigh toned up too!
You should be just fine height/weight - wise. Your thighs might just be your body type. Thighs will almost always have some "jiggly." If you want you can find some thigh, hip, and bun excercises to tone up and strengthen the muscles a bit, which will help. But..seriously, girl, don't stress about it. It sounds like you're healthy, and that's what's really important. Stay focused on that. I know it's not easy in our society!

First of all, women's pant sizes are relative. I have a pair of jeans that are a size 14, that fit great, and I also have another pair of jeans made by the same company that are a size three, and are too loose on me to wear without a belt. A 6/7 is average and relative. Also, if you think you're fat, and have a negative energy about it, channel that energy into something positive. Go running or join a gym. If you're too embarrassed about your size, there are even more subtle things you can do to make you more confident; you can try to cut out sodas and candies out of your diet and do sit ups and jumping jacks in your room where nobody has to see you. When you feel a little better about yourself, then do more rigorous exercises. Nobody can tell you if you really are fat or not, it's not any body's business to tell you how to feel about yourself. OMG! Don't beat yourself up! How about you go on my reccomended diet! First, think about what you eat. Go to the grocery store and find healthy, fat-free foods. And ,oh yeah, I almost forgot...SUGAR! Try to find small snacks (for instance, 100 calorie packs) that have either low sugar (without going over 7 grams) or low fat. You may be tempted by delicious sweets, but try to resist them. If you're caught at a restaurant and you want some desert...okay maybe something small. But wait....back on the low fat/sugar-free subject: you have to have a good eye to hunt for sugar-free ice cream. Healthy Choice has a popsicle (chocolate) has two grams of fat and 2 grams of sugar alcohol. (not deadly) Excersise...find a good spot doing situps. (garage, room, etc.) Start with 5 situps, then 10, then 20.and so on. Keep going higher with the amount of situps.
Confused? Here's what you need to do to have a new you:
Find low-fat/fat free foods
Find sugar-free/no sugar added foods.
Do sit ups.
Deserts and splurging? Maybe after a hard week of eating healthy and excersising, ice cream or a small slice of cake is okay. But limit your desert consumption up to only one week. Now wait. Hold on. This is NOT going to happen over night. It'll happen in a slow gradual process. Results may happen in a year (or more..it depends, you know) and you'll be TOTALLY pleased with your results!! First of all, do not listen to anyone who says you are fat. I am 11 and I weigh about 100 pounds. I felt insucure and I felt that I was kind of fat. I then realized that I am 5''4 so I am actually normal sized for my hieght. First you have to realize that there are alot of changes happening in your body so somtimes it is easy to become overwieght or top heavy. Even though the scale might show a number that seems higher that what you would like or “think” is normal, weight depends on a lot of factors: Height, muscle mass, body style…etc. I threw my scale away years ago and just watch what I eat (stay away from sweets, soda, and fast foods) and you will be alright! Also, try to get out and play, exercise, swim, bike riding, rollerblading) all the fun stuff and you will be amazed at how great you feel and look. Am I exercising too much?

I am 5'2 and I weigh 101 pounds. I weight lift for 30 minutes, and then run 3 miles, usually in 30 something minutes...everyday. I do this 6 times a week. Is this too much?

there is such a thing as over working your body (especially with running) and causing more damage than good, but i think that if you are at least doing resistance training w/ weights, and not just doing cardio, and your taking in enough calories for energy - and drinking plenty of water - then you should be okay. and it's great that you are taking a day off to rest! your body needs that.besides, you're not working out excessively when it comes to time, so that's good. oh, and as long as you're not exercising because it's an obsession, i think you're doing well. you're weight is good, too. just don't go below 100 lbs!

Yes, that's a bit excessive. Not necessarily excessive per session, but you should consider taking a break and doing it maybe 3 or 4 times per week. Three miles of running sounds excessive to me, but I'm not much of a runner and I've heard of people running more than that daily. It just seems like extra wear on the knees. Good night!
I dont think so, i excersize 6-7 days a week swimming 12,000 yards a day, and running between 8-12 miles a week. I also weight lift for about 20 minutes a day and do 100 push ups, 200 sit ups and 300 jumping jacks about 3x a week. I think that your work put is great. Im guessing your probably like me and like to work out and cant get enough of it, Tomorrow i am doing a 7 mile run and then going swimming for practice for 3 hours and then coming home and doing my dailey excersizes i dont care what people say but i dont think that thier is such a thing as too much excersizing. I feel that you should excersize too your full ability, and if you have no problem with doing that much excersizing than you shouldnt worry about over excersizing yourself just make sure you eat healthy and dont eat sugar and sweets, that will throw you off course and trust me it doesnt feel good. it is a scientific fact that your muscles need at least 2 days between weightlifting sessions to recover--no matter what your age and size. you are pretty much wasting your time doing more than 30 minutes a day of weights every 2 or 3 days. it is simply extra work done for nothing, and even worse, it can take longer to see results because of not letting your muscles repair between workouts. so, stop it! you must rest at least 2 days between weightlifting sessions, or you are sabotaging yourself. if you see any results, you are probably only seeing half of what you could get if you rested properly. you can do as much cardio as you like, though, just you might not wanna do a lot on the days you weightlift because you wont perform your weight routine as well--or at least wait to do it after you do weights.
I worked out that often and found that it was fine. It all depends on if you are starting to lag a bit. If you are then add another day off in the middle of the the workout week. I found a 5 day work out week was better then 6 gave my body time to rest.

abs are made in the kitchen. I would try weight watchers. Granted I am a man, but I have taken off over 50 lbs in the past year. Honestly I don't even pay for it. I just do it with my gf who has alos lost a bunch of weight and it has taught us how to eat better. Limiting calorie intake is the key to reducing fat, I bet you are ripped underneath already.
You cant lose weight with just exercise alone. You need to change your diet too. Yes you dont eat red meat or drink anything but diet soda but if your still eating cookies and pizza and cake and working out there will be no change. You need to change your caloric intake.
Weight loss comes from burning off more calories than you digest. That doesnt mean starve yourself and eat only like 800 calories per day but instead of pizza eat a salad with very little dressing. Dressing is the killer. Or instead of fried chicken eat baked or grilled chicken. Cut out the sweets, sugar is horrible for weight loss. Also be sure to eat breakfast. A good low calorie cereal like Special K instead of a pop tart or muffin or bagel.
Also cut out a lot of cheeses, eat cheese in moderation. Use no or light mayo on snadwiches. Those little frozen dinners like lean cusine or healthy choice are good for losing weight too because they are balanced, prpvide the nutirents you need and are usually under 350 calories per meal.
Eat 5 small meals a day. For example: 1 cup of cereal with some skim milk for breakfast, a piece of fruit or granola bar for a snack, a salad with grilled chicken for lunch, a nother snack of fruit or veggies or even those 100 calorie packs of cookies and crackers they make now are good and a healthy dinner of chicken or fish with 1/4-1/2 cup of veggies for dinner veggies for dinner. Try to stay away from too many potatoes or breads. Eat them in moderation. And yes you can have a cheat day once a week where you can treat yourself to ice cream or whatever, just dont over do it.

All I can really tell you is to keep it up. The pounds aren't dropping most likely because you are gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. You could try interval training- I've read many times that it works really well for burning fat. (Ex: when you run, go fast for 1 minute, slower for two, and then speed up again.)
You can also look critically at your diet. Are there ANY healthy changes you can make that would cut calories (like switching to wheat bread or staying away from fried meat, or simply including more fresh produce)? Anything you can think of will help.

I feel your pain. I am 5'4 with 42 inch hips and a 25 inch waist. This is the absolute smallest I can get because there is no more fat to burn. I just continue running four miles six days a week.. that's all I really can do. I am in the gym no less than an hour and a half. I don't alternate between legs one day and arms the next. I work everything out everyday and it honestly works. Also, six mini meals a day. Mostly fruits, nuts, grains, whole wheat, fiber and protein because they keep you feeling full all day.

It's not really what you eat that matters, it's how much of it you eat. I have diabetes so I have to watch my carbs. The doctor told me to eat between 45-60 carbs per meal, I usually aim for no around 45 though because 60 sounds too high to me. as long as you always eat a protien serving with your carbs, you should be fine. take the number of carbs you eat times four and divide by your total calorie intake. carbs should make up fourty five to sixty percent of your daily intake. it's your energy and brain source, so if you are trying to watch your weight, cut your total food intake, not your carbs!
I think it depends on your activity level. If you're running marathons then no, you're going to need all those energy stores. If you sit on you butt all day then yes way to many. If you are pretty active and not overweight then don't worry about it. If you feel a little overweight then try substituting some of those carbs with protein.

It kind of depends on your metabolism. Some people can tolerate carbs, some can't. Also, although the bran is a "good" carb, meaning it is converted to sugar fairly slowly, potatoes are not, and the pasta depends on whether it is whole wheat or white pasta. The first is good, the second bad, as is white rice. But if you aren't having any problem with your blood sugar or with gaining weight, it's OK. However, it would be much better to get your carbs from more complex sources like vegetables, broccoli, carrots, squash, greens, etc., than from pasta and other starches. And you do need to watch how much tuna you eat.
My philosophy tends to lean towards how much you burn, not how much you consume. As long as you are expending more calories than you are taking in, you're likely to lose weight. Carbs are also extremely important because they're the number one source for energy. The minimum recommendation (at least the last I knew of) is 120g per day, but that's the low end. I eat a lot of carbs most everyday, and I don't gain much, if any. So the bigger question is how active are you? If you do moderate to heavy activity, you should be fine eating a lot of carbs. If light to moderate, either pick it up some or chart your weight gain. If it's negligible, don't worry about it, but if you're consistently gaining 5-10+lbs a month, then you need to rethink your diet and activity levels.

Am i eating the right things to lose weight?

When i was on holiday there, i was away for 10 days and i was eating a low calorie cereal bar for breakfast, one and a half slices of white toast with a thin spreading of butter for lunch and usually a baked potato with salad for dinner, i felt great, lost a little bit of weight and was happy.
And i was just wondering if i can carry a diet on like this when im home, as i do want to lose a nit more weight, i am 5 ft 5 and weigh 9 stone 4lbs (130lbs)

You seem to be eating a lot of carbs, and carbs do give you energy, but protein and fruits and veggies are a better way to give you prolonged energy and help you lose weight. Salads are a good source of veggies just try not to use too much dressing.
the white bread will clog up your insides, the baked potato is not all that great, maybe on holidays. basic healthy eating plan, is eating a lot of protein[nuts,seeds,grain.chees... if you must. meat makes you fat and is cruel] and vegetables,[fresh and colorful try some guacamole with red bell peppers, or just maybe a simple carrot] fruit[good for snacks, keep you energized] the salads are good [make sure the lettuce are dark leafy greens] variety is best, so you can get the different vitamins and minerals. never go hungry because if you body has enough to eat it has no reason to hold on to anything, so it will go right through you.
u should include a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables in ur diet, complementing it with light exercises.

- handful potato chips
- 1 bag broccoli with soy sauce
- 6 apricots

Just dieting is not enough. You have to exercise to if you want to lose weight. Although I am a guy, it maybe different for you, but exercise is a must.
That may not even be enough food depending on your weight. You may also need exercise if you wanna lose weight.
Too little and the type of foods that make you gain weight. They are not healthy, except for the cheese, brocolli(fresh I hope) apricots and sunflower kernels.Add some lean meat and take away all simple carbs. Add more veggies. i had no breakfeast
for lunch i had two chicken salad sandwiches
for dinner i had a burger with a saugsage patty

Chicken "salad" does not constitute a veggie. You have no calcium either in dairy or plant form. Ok, the best way to lose weight is to have your 3 meals a day! If you miss breakfast, it's not gonna help! Its the most important meal of the day. Instead of Hamburgers, go for maybe a chicken salad or something that has no greese and low in fat. Having too much sodium, caffein or sugar won't help. Just eat your fruits and vegetables, have your 3 meals (or 6 small meals) a day. Don't forget about excersice! =D

it's always better to eat breakfast. it keeps u from eating a lot during the day. and i wouldnt eat a burger with a sausage patty for dinner. try eating something on the food pyramid.
